On 5/18, 2018 Xiaowen Music top executives came to Boston to explore partnership opportunities with Mayor’s Representative to the Board for Yonkers, Dr. Rosemary J. Uzzo and Harvard Professor Dr. Ron Ferguson. During the conference, Dr. Ferguson presented Harvard’s research findings on early childhood development, called the Basics. The Basics focus on the interaction between parents and children from 0 to 3 years old. To reinforce the Basics, Dr. Ferguson invited guest speakers such as Harvard Associate Professor Dr. Sparrow, community leaders of Boston and Yonkers, government officials, and CEOs of large companies. After the conference, Chairman Ye was deeply touched by the efforts of these leaders in trying to give back to the community. The spirit of the Basics pushed us to form a partnership with Dr. Rosemary and Dr. Ferguson to initiate the idea of China Basics. Xiaowen Music feels honored to shoulder the responsibility for the evolution of Chinese education.
On 5/17, 2018 Xiaowen Music upper executives traveled to Upper Manhattan to explore the Hollingworth Preschool at Teachers College, Columbia University. Hollingworth Preschool is a small university-based preschool that is built on educational philosophy that children learn best through inquiry, play, and experience. Xiaowen Music explored the classrooms, discussed theories, and talked about the core values at the preschool with the teachers. Chairman Ye was able to connect with the educational leaders at Hollingworth Preschool on the concept that the child should be at the core of every educational institution. Chairman Ye was also very happy to hear that music was also part of the education at the Preschool and reinforced his belief that music is essential part of a child’s growth.
On 5/17, 2018 Xiaowen Music upper executives visited Lori Custodero, Associate Professor of Music Education and Music Education Program Director, whose main focus of study is on music in lives of young children and families. Both sides shared their vision on child’s music education and discussed potential future partnerships. Professor Custodero was elated to find that Xiaowen Music had similar views on music education and expressed interest in doing research in Xiaowen Music schools. Professor explained that she is very happy to be given this opportunity, as she was not able to find the right partnership before. Chariman Ye was very happy as he feels he found a comrade in arms in the field of music education.
On 5/9 2018 Chairman Ye & Co. met with professor Becky Arce, Director of Summer Sessions at UCSD, for a future summer partnership program. During this meeting, we discussed the performance, safety, and cultural exchange aspects of the program. We wanted ensure the best musical experience for our Xiaowen students and establish a solid foundation for consecutive programs.
On 5/8, Xiaowen Music arrived in San Diego, California. Xiaowen Music upper executives met with 4rth District Supervisor, Ron Roberts to talk about potential community partnership opportunities in San Diego. Chairman Ye expressed his passion for music education in San Diego and feels that San Diego is "A Beatuiful Place for Music." Mr. Roberts was touched by Chairman Ye's passion for music and agreed that the musical arts is also important to the San Diego community. Mr. Roberts was also very pleased to hear that Xiaowen Music will hold a concert on 8/4 @UCSD and appreciates Xiaowen's invitation. To thank Chairman Ye and his efforts in SD, Mr. Roberts gave Chairman Ye an honorary San Diego citizen pin to welcome Chairman Ye to the San Diego Community.
